GAP Coverage

If a pre-trial prisoner had Medicare before arrest, they remain eligible for the program while incarcerated. However, Medicare generally will not pay for medical care but instead choose to rely upon the correctional facility to provide and pay for care. Through NuHealth Rx, incarcerated pre-trial prisoners can access and receive community care under their Medicare through the NuHealth Rx platform and the bill is paid by Medicare, not the facility.
